It's Christmas time here at EGADZ and once again the community has stepped up to make sure that every Youth receives a gift this Christmas! We wouldn't be able to do this without the generous support of everyone who donated money, gifts, stocking stuffers, time and food to the Youth Christmas party. Here are just some of the many people and groups who helped out this year!

Hillberg & Berg launched the Venus Pin on March 8th, 2019 in celebration of International Women’s Day across all of their retail markets in Canada including on line retail market.

Through the sale of our Venus Pin, Hillberg & Berg will donate a portion of the pin proceeds to specifically named non-profits organizations within 5 Canadian cities where we are actively engaged in the community.

The Venus Pins sales started on March 1st, 2019 and will continue throughout the year until December 31st or until such date that all Venus Pins are sold.

$30.00 from the sale of each pin will be allocated to an overall pool of money for Hiilberg & Berk’s Feminine Hygiene Campaign.

Throughout the year, the money raised will be dispersed among 5 community Engagement Markets which includes Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg.  Within each of 5 communities, monies will be dispensed to partnering organizations that are named beneficiaries of the Hillberg & Berg’s Hygiene Campaign.

In early April 2019 Micheal-Anne, Hillberg & Berk’s Sparkle Ambassador dropped  off 10 boxes of feminine hygiene products for the clients of EGADZ and our Outreach to give out to those in need.

On July 18th, Michelle-Anne attended EGADZ to deliver $2,500.00 our first installment of the proceeds for the Campaign.  We will receive a second installment in October and in early January 2020; we will receive the final payment from the Campaign.

This partnership is so appreciated by those in need and will assist many Women in our community.

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc./EGADZ would like to acknowledge the donation of $20,000.00 from the Saskatoon Community Foundation - Quality of Life Grant 2019 in support of our Action to Employment Program.  This program does not receive annual funding so it continues to operate through a fundraising dinner we have in the fall as well as donations from the Seniors we do yard work for that can afford to make a donation. Action to Employment assists seniors in our community that can no longer do their own yard work but want to remain in their homes. The Youth are hired to do the work which helps them to learn new skills, be a part of their community, and experience the responsibility of having a job.

“I was so lucky that the crew was able to come and take care of my yard while I was in the hospital. It was such a relief knowing that I did not have to worry about my neighbours complaining while I was going through such a hard time.
